Our students and academic staff showed great interest in the interview moderated by Assoc. Prof. Mehmet TUNÇKOL, Head of the Recreation Department of the Faculty of Sports Sciences of our University. Prof.Dr.Suat KARAKÜÇÜK, one of the leading professors in the field of recreation, shared his years of knowledge and experience with us in the interview.
In the interview, Mr. Karaküçük stated that especially the field of recreation provides employment on sports and tourism, but the development of entrepreneurship and innovation understanding with new orientations can reveal different career opportunities individually and emphasized that there is a great need for graduates of the recreation department to take part in recreational activities with disadvantaged groups. Mr. Karaküçük clarified the opportunities in this field by saying that he and his team have ensured the employment of many graduates with the project they have been carrying out for 11 years within Gazi University, and added that within the scope of the aforementioned project, activities are carried out for individuals with autism and as a result, a social benefit is also obtained.
Prof.Dr.Suat KARAKÜÇÜK said in the following parts of his speech that employment can be provided in the service sector in the field of recreation in various parts of the world, but for this, individuals who can compete globally need to improve themselves. In this context, he also reminded the importance of obtaining certificates and specialization certificates through various courses and seminars organized in our field. He underlined that there are many activities that can be done in the field of recreation, which is developing day by day and increasing in recognition, and that various opportunities related to these activities should be evaluated.
